By far the easiest way to get to Brooklyn, but beware... there is no lift at the station and there are nearly 100 stairs to combat (about 50 up / 50 down).
The River Reasons festival site (McKell Park) is only a short, level stroll from Hawkesbury River Station.
1) If you have a GPS in your car, use 'Brooklyn Road, Brooklyn' as the address.
If not, take the Brooklyn/Mooney Mooney exit off the Freeway, or Pacific Motorway (M1), follow all the signs to Brooklyn (these will bring you over the old Pacific Hwy bridge to the Eastern side of the river) and turn left onto Brooklyn Rd.
About half way down Brooklyn Road, you will see the Event Parking facility at Salt Pan Reserve (next to the RFS station). The Event Parking Facility is being generously funded and managed by Hornsby Shire Council, and guests of both events are welcome and encouraged to use this facility on the event day.
A Shuttle Bus service will run every 10 mins or so, to / from the Event Parking facility and the heart of Brooklyn (opposite Hawkesbury River Station). The Shuttle Bus service is FREE for all attendees of the River Reasons Festival and Hornsby Shire Environment Festival and will run between 9.30am and 4pm. This shuttle bus service is a joint initiative, co-funded equally by the organisers of River Reasons Festival & Hornsby Shire Environment Festival.
All 2083 residents are strongly encouraged to walk or cycle to the event or to use the complimentary Event Parking & Shuttle Bus service.
There are a few designated disabled parking spaces in the carpark closest to Brooklyn Wharf, as well as one alongside Hawkesbury River Marina.
Parking in Brooklyn is limited - if you have the choice, we strongly suggest you arrive to the festival by train.
